Doug Plummer dearly wishes he could play fiddle (he tried for several years before realizing his creative aptitude lay elsewhere). He has been taking photographs since the age of six, learning the craft from his father, who had been a Navy photographer during WWII.

He was born and raised in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, but a college internship in Portland, Oregon made him want to relocate to the Pacific Northwest at the earliest opportunity.  He graduated from The Evergreen State College in 1980 and moved to Seattle permanently in 1984 to begin a professional photography career. A few years later he stumbled onto the contra dance and traditional music scene, and he has not missed a Northwest Folklife Festival since.

Doug’s award-winning work appears in magazines and advertising worldwide. He is represented by several stock agencies, including Photonica, Panoramic Stock, AGE Fotostock and WireImage Stock. He has had numerous one-man and group shows around the country, including in New York, where “Mystical Panoramics From Around The World” opened at The Edward Carter Gallery in 2002.  A book of his Ireland work is in progress, titled, “A Dance Across Ireland: Visions From A Fabled Land.”

More of Doug’s work can be viewed at his websites: www.dougplummer.com and www.weddingsbydoug.com. He can be reached at 206-523-2525. These photos are for sale: contact Doug for details.
